for a change, i decided to perhaps, change my taste in tv programmes. yes, i seldom stick my butt on the sofa in front of the goggle box. but hey, it's the holidays. anyway, i was watching a show on national geographic channel just now. and before you say i'm a geek who loves such educational programmes, i've got to tell you i'm not. some programmes touches your heart, not that they relate to me directly, but i can feel for those people. people who died heroically, people who died for mankind.

well. basically, the show was about the columbia space shuttle tragedy. i used to once love the sky, and everything related to it. astrology was like my textbook. though that interest slowly dwindled, i could not help but still look up at the sky sometimes, at night. mesmerized by the few twinkling stars that lace the sky. ah. back to my point. it's rather sad to see how human errors led to lost of 7 innocent lives, 7 people who had dreams of being astronauts, making mankind proud, and making contributions to the society at large. yet, they died. don't belittle a piece of foam. it's exactly because of a brief-case sized foam which stole the lives of 7 astronauts from families, who huddled together at home, awaiting their return. it's a very emotional kind of thing. no, i'm not sobbing. it just sets you thinking.

then, there are people around you doing stupid things. (i wont be coy to admit that i am one of them). childish in fact.they whine about life. how life sucks. they make a fuss out of everything. they believe that everything they do will make the sky collapse on them. HELL NO. there are so many other things in life that we should look forward to. mundane stuffs do little to make your life better.

"oh, i'm so gonna fail my common tests"; "argh, organic chem sucks"; "eh, you suck. cos you've got that stinking attitude".. get a life. all these do not add up to bigger and more worthy things in life. take a good hard look around you, man. treasure those small things. don't regret only after you've lost that special something.
