i had the perfect start to the day, albeit a NEGATIVE one. damn. i contracted the flu bug last night, and woke up today with an ultra bad sorethroat. to make matters worse, my nose was so runny it threatens to deplete my entire tissue paper resource. hence, me being an ardent conservationist, decided to use toilet paper instead. it's a little rougher than conventional tissue papers, but at least i know i saved some trees :) so, i didn't really want to go school today, but decided to lug my unusually heavy body outta my home. dont ask me why, i just like to go school.

school was mundane. best thing was that i slept through civics. the highlight of the day was the movie of course! the highly anticipated and controversial film - THE DA VINCI CODE! wooohooo. edwyn, sihui and alfred were my fellow movie-mates. with a superb decision by erm, edwyn? we decided to catch the show at THE CATHAY. not the one at cineleisure or causeway pt, it's the one beside PS. spanking new i would say, with a pungent smell of fresh paint. gets on your nasal nerves i would say, hehe. but HOLY SHIT, the movie theatre was freaking nice. lucky us, we managed to get seats in the Grand Cathay, supposedly the largest hall in the Cathay. and my my was it grand. the red lights streaking through the side walls adds up to the retro atmosphere. and as the commercials and trailers started streaming onto the screen, the red curtain in front unveiled in a slow, but graceful way. ah.

okay, to the movie. i read the book by Dan Brown slightly more than a year ago, so couldn't really recall much of the details. and i would say that the movie indeed bring me back to time where i read the book. especially the ending, which was rather ambiguous and cloudy when i read the book. then you see the lourve museum, the 2 pyramids pointing towards each other, the two points so close to each other that it makes you marvel at such an amazing engineering feat. the plot was good and grips you from beginning to end. contrary to reviews from various sources, i would give the movie 4/5 stars for the superb script and good acting. you'll cringe at some scenes, especially when silas performs his rituals using his 'whip' and cilice. darn cool. all in all, a movie worth watching. though it may be factually unsound, it's all worth the 8 bucks you paid for.

hmmm. didn't go for dinner with the other 3 for dinner due to my bad sore throat. trudged home only to realise that my keyboard's gone. damn. that means i'll miss my game sorely. poor me. oh, and lastly, college day tomorrow and we'll finally get to put on our red ties! ah, tried it on just now, and i think it complements my red-framed specs :)
